How we handle your information.
Steel City Solutions is a Pueblo, Colorado engineering consultancy. We keep this short and plain. If anything below is unclear, email [email protected] and we'll explain.
This site is operated from, and intended for visitors in, the United States. We do not target the EU, UK, or other jurisdictions with their own consent regimes, and we do not undertake to comply with them.

What we collect
We only collect information that you give us directly, plus basic technical information that every web server records.
Name, email, phone, organization, and the message you send through our contact form, free technology assessment, or newsletter signup. If you log in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google.
For each page view: the page path, your IP address, your browser's user-agent string, the HTTP referrer, the time of the request, and how long the page was open. This helps us understand which content is useful and diagnose problems.
A session cookie if you log in, a CSRF cookie to prevent form-forgery attacks, a theme preference cookie (light or dark), and a referral-tag cookie (scs_ref) that records how you found us. Google Ads also sets cookies for conversion tracking; see "Advertising and analytics" below.
What we don't do
- We do not sell your information.
- We do not share contact-form or assessment submissions with advertisers or data brokers.
- We do not run a Meta Pixel, TikTok pixel, or other social-network tracking pixel.
- We do not buy your data from data brokers.
- We do not buy contact lists or send unsolicited cold email.
- We do not store payment card information on this site.
- We do not require an account to read our content.
- We do not run a cookie consent banner (this site is U.S.-only; see top of page).
How we use your information
Information you submit is used to respond to you, evaluate fit for engagement, and follow up about the work you asked us about. Page-view data is used to understand which content is helping prospective clients and which pages have problems. That's it.
Advertising and analytics
We run Google Ads to reach U.S. businesses looking for the kind of work we do. To measure whether those ads actually produce inquiries (rather than just clicks), we run the Google Ads conversion tag (gtag.js) on every page of this site.
Tells Google when a visitor who arrived from a Google Ads campaign performs a tracked action on our site (for example, submitting the contact form). Google reports this back to us in aggregate as a "conversion."
Page URL, referrer, the Google Ads click identifier (gclid) if you arrived from one of our ads, and standard browser/IP information that any web request carries. We do not pass form contents, your name, or your email to Google.
Google Ads sets first-party cookies (typically _gcl_au and related) used to attribute a conversion to a prior ad click. These are governed by Google's privacy policy in addition to this one.
Use Google's Ads Settings to turn off ad personalization, install an ad-blocker (which will prevent the tag from loading), or visit this site with cookies disabled. Doing any of these does not affect your ability to use the site.
Who we share information with
We share information with a small number of service providers we use to run the business. We do not sell or rent personal information to anyone.
The website runs on infrastructure we operate ourselves. Database, application, and proxy servers are administered by Steel City Solutions.
Login uses Google OAuth. When you sign in, Google authenticates you and sends us your name, email, and profile picture. Google's privacy policy governs Google's handling of that interaction.
Inquiries from the contact form and the technology assessment are forwarded to our internal CRM and to email so we can respond. We do not pass that data to outside marketing platforms.
As described in "Advertising and analytics" above, we send conversion-tracking pings to Google for visitors who arrived from one of our Google Ads campaigns.
We will disclose information when we are required to by valid legal process, or when necessary to investigate fraud, abuse, or threats to the safety of any person.
How long we keep it
Contact submissions and assessments are kept while the lead is active and for a reasonable period afterward for our own records. Page-view logs are kept for operational diagnostics. If you ask us to delete information about you, we will, except where we are required to retain it for legal or tax reasons.
Security
Traffic to and from this site is encrypted with HTTPS. Authentication is delegated to Google. Administrative access to user data is restricted to the principal of Steel City Solutions. We treat security seriously, but no system on the public internet is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise.
Your choices
- You can request a copy of the information we hold about you.
- You can ask us to correct or update it.
- You can ask us to delete it.
- You can opt out of any follow-up communication at any time.
- You can clear cookies in your browser at any time.
- You can use the site without logging in.
- You can decline to fill out the contact or assessment forms.
- For California and Colorado residents, the rights above are statutory and we honor them as a matter of practice.
To exercise any of these, email [email protected] from the address you used to contact us. We will respond within a reasonable time, and within 30 days where required by law.
Children
This site is intended for businesses and the people who run them. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of the page. Material changes will be reflected on the homepage or in a notice on this page for a reasonable period.
